Gary - Thank you for your letter as it highlights a significant problem with all of this rapid / over development. No parking required for these structures is insane! Then on top of it they are tearing down grocery stores to build some of these lots. Going forward not only will it be a ch…
The district 1 group you reference here is an informal group made up of neighbors whose singular goal is to try to encourage a relocation of the planned detox facility. It is NOT a debate group trying to garner differing opinions on that matter. Nor is it a formally established community …
The reason a loudspeaker was necessary was because Ms. Corzo cut people off and muted their mikes during the only "listening" session the project offered in February. Even with this event, she refused a Town Hall Q&A and only took questions when she was forced to do so due to the loud…
Thank you Taso for effectively voicing our concerns as a much respected and appreciated member of District 1. We are fortunate to have someone like you speak up for us. Clearly this angers those who don't want anyone to get in the way of their agendas, such as Noelia Corza. Mark Simon too…
Another wonderful example of our inept San Mateo City Council focusing on all of the wrong things. None of them seem to have any logic. There is already a drain on the electric grids. Could any one of them to try to redirect the focus away from "reach codes" and "gas blowers" - which no o…
Terence - Well said! This City Council is overly focused on minutia like leaf-blowers and historic policies, but can't be bothered to fix lights where pedestrians are being killed, nor advocate for the city residents in matters such as a Detox/Mentally Ill facility location.
I am opposed to this detox facility being placed in this proposed location. The article states that “without a sobering station” DUI arrests doubled in 2025. What is the cause and effect? Perhaps it had nothing to do with the existing sobering station closing and instead more DUI Checkpoi…
I peeked in during construction before the opening, met Omid, and have been regulars ever since. Everything - from the atmosphere, to the staff, to the food - is perfect! Beyond Perfect! Very happy for this wonderful addition to downtown and not surprised for your success. Congratulations!
Thank you Andrew! Finally a voice of sanity. Spending money on historic "feel good" issues when "realistic" street light fixes could prevent further pedestrian deaths is ludicrous. I wish you would run for City Council! I'd vote for you!

Eric - Thank you for your informative letter. It provides very important details that the County and Horizon continue to hide and/or try to minimize.
